I thought I'd share a few shots of #7, a cocobolo and darkburst-top red spruce 000. This one has been an epic journey, and represents several first for me -- my first sunburst, first slotted headstock, first pyramid bridge, and first guitar with the new MS logo.

Some other specs:

24.9" scale
carbon fiber-reinforced, one-piece mahogany neck
Macassar ebony bridge, rosette, bindings and tail wedge
Gabon ebony fingerboard and headplate
red spruce bracing
tor-tis bold, small teardrop pickguard

Thanks for looking!

Great looking work, really, really nice. I especially like that burst. Darkness level is just right.

She's a beauty! The rosette sort of reminds me of the plates of a tortoise shell.

Ditto on all the rest of the kudos and... I love the MS logo. Clearly M & S letters, but also depicting a twin peak mountain with river. Very cool!

Outstanding sunburst, as well as all the other details!

OK, Ken. I just have to ask. What does the MS stand for? idunno I looked at your web site and still couldn't figure it out. [uncle]

I tried using those letters for a logo at one time, since they are my initials, but just couldn't make it look like much more than a sick seagull. Nice design.

Very nice job! Excellent blend on the burst. I wish my first came out that well.

Hehe, Mark, MS stands for Mountain Song Guitars, which I've now added to my signature. :D I've been using that name for a while on my labels, but this is the first one incorporating the new headstock inlay. I came up with the design by carving into a pumpkin -- I knew that would force me to keep it fairly simple.

I should mention that I got some help on the burst from my cranky-hippie friend and mentor, James Condino. No doubt it would not have come out half as good without his assistance.

Amazing guitar! Mountain Song is nice, ...I was gonna joke that it obviously stood for "Master ...Sumpin'".

Nice work! I love the rosette. You don't see many with the grain oriented that way, but it works well here! Also, that may be my favorite headstock logo I've ever seen! Way too cool!
